First Church of Christ, Scientist, Sydney is a branch of The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
We invite you to join us.
Sunday services include Bible selections, hymns, a solo, and the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson. Join in hymn singing and prayer. Listen in an atmosphere of acceptance, peace and warmth. Once a month we enjoy a live Celtic harp and recorder duet.
Children and teens can come to Sunday School to discover their true nature as God’s child. Sunday School is at the same time as the Sunday service.
Our Wednesday night service is a time for sharing blessings and testimonies of Christian Science healing. We sing hymns, listen and pray. There are readings from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy to bring spiritual insights to current topics.
Our Reading Room is where you can learn about Christian Science and its application to any situation or condition.
We support our local community through sponsorship of the Glebe Youth Service and the Caterpillar Breakfast Club at Glebe Public School. We also sponsor public lectures on Christian Science by authorised members of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship each year.
First Church of Christ, Scientist, Sydney moved from Darlinghurst to Glebe in 2010. Some historical information about the Darlinghurst building and organ is available on the Organ Historical Trust of Australia website.
About Christian Science
The Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy are our always available Pastor. The Christian Science Weekly Bible Lesson is made up of passages from these two books, and this forms the Sermon in all Christian Science branch churches. You can read more about our Pastor here:
